Transcendence:  Reclaiming Your Power During Turbulent Times

For the past few months, the planet has been experiencing the coronavirus pandemic. Like millions of other people around the planet, I have been abiding by the stay at home executive orders by our elected officials. Other than going out for needed supplies, I have been in the house.

It is important to have a higher ordered reflection on the current reality occuring on the planet at this time. The coronavirus has exposed so much. Just like the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, the coronavirus has the capacity of eradicating a large segment of the human population. It has also served to upset the economy. Additionally, it has served to expose challenges to our health care system and governmental leadership. Thousands of hard working individuals have suddenly lost their livelihood. It is reasonable to expect that there is a great degree of fear and uncertainty about things getting back to “normal.”

We all can operate in a reaction response where we allow ourselves to give up our power to our current circumstances. It is certainly true that jobs have been furloughed, non essential businesses have been shuttered, certain items are not available at the grocery store, movie and entertainment venues are closed, and on and on. What is true is that the kind of things we count on as being constant in our lives have been altered and disrupted. defines Transcendence as “the act of rising above something to a superior state. Transcendence comes from the latin prefix trans, meaning “beyond” and the word scandare, meaning “to climb.” As stated in, “When you achieve transcendence you have gone beyond ordinary limitations.”

Right now is an opportunity for all of us to rise above the current coronavirus reality, and move toward transcendence. As we shift our focus and raise our vibration, we can evolve into being greater than beyond what we may currently believe about who we are. As Dr. Wayne Dyer states, “When you change the way you look at things, the thing you look at change.”

The process involves aligning with source energy through the spiritual practice of utilizing meditation and affirmations. As you merge with source energy and become one with it, you allow yourself to elevate to a much higher vibration. Higher vibrational energies include peace, love, gratitude, and enlightenment. As we set our intention to go beyond our current circumstances, we experience the normal tension which compels us to make decisions that benefit our greater good.

There are a few practical things you can do to move toward transcendence.

Limit your time watching television cable news programs.

Pay close attention to your self care.

Look at your current challenges as opportunities.

Put yourself on a schedule, particularly if you are spending a large amount of time at home.

Stay in regular contact with your support system.

Spend time everyday engaging your spiritual and energy management process.

Relook and reformulate your life’s purpose.

Eat healthy meals.

Get up and move around.

Know that what is going on right now is temporary.

Michael A. Singer, author of The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself, states “Only you can take inner freedom away from yourself, or give it to yourself. Nobody else can.”

Know that when you are in vibration of source energy, you are free and at peace.
